UAW LOCAL 1714 RETIRED WORKERS’ CHAPTER EXECUTIVE BOARD                                                                                                                      

November 15, 2011  

The regular Executive Board meeting of UAW Local 1714 Retired Workers’ Chapter was held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Local Union Hall, with Chairperson Mike Sullivan presiding.  

Roll call of officers showed 3 present 2 excused (B. Fry and R. Willard).             

Motion by J. Tucker, second by D. Holestine, to pay Antone’s to cater the Christmas Dinner Dance, December 11, 2011, for the price of $12.95 per plate.                      CARRIED             

Motion by D. Holestine, second by J. Tucker, to donate $50.00 to the Warren Family Mission.                                                                                                                      CARRIED             

Motion by J. Tucker, second by D. Holestine, to have breakfast for the kitchen personnel at Dino’s, on December 10, at 9:00 a.m.                                                   CARRIED             

Motion by D. Holestine, second by J. Tucker, to pay for poinsettias for the Christmas Dinner Dance.                                                                                           CARRIED             

Motion by D. Holestine, second by J. Tucker, to give the secretaries and the kitchen help cash for Christmas.  There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

UAW LOCAL 1714RETIRED WORKERS’ CHAPTER                                                                                                                                October 17, 2011
The regular meeting of UAW Local 1714 Retired Workers’ Chapter was held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Local Union Hall.  Chairperson Mike Sullivan opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our ill and departed brothers & sisters.  Roll call of officers showed 5 present.  Brother Kelvin Harlemon delivered the Invocation.  There were 275 members in attendance.             Motion by D. Kimmel, second by J. Storm, to accept the September 2011, Retired Workers’ Chapter Executive Board meeting minutes and membership meeting minutes as printed in the FOCUS.  CARRIED             Motion by S. Cotton, second by D. Holestine, to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented.                                                                                                                                                 CARRIED Guests from Optiview, American Financial Services, Associated School Employees Credit Union, Union Label Committee, Benefit Plans Reps., Vice President Bob Morales, and President Dave Green, were introduced, as well as new Retirees and their spouse/guest attending their first meeting. Dave Green announced that the Local Agreement has been ratified.  He reminded everyone that two years ago General Motors was in bankruptcy and what we lost will be brought up in four (4) years.  President Green informed the Retirees that the Union Label Committee’s Pool Tournament is Sunday, October 23, 2011. Rick, American Financial, stated they are having an appreciation dinner October 27, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman.  Call 330-758-8102 for reservations. Chairperson Sullivan reminded everyone to be sure to vote November 8, and to vote ‘no’ on Issue 2. Vice Chair B. Fry gave a report on the Washington D.C. trip and the conference at Black Lake. Bill Bowers, Region 2-B Representative, gave a report on the National Agreement.  He announced Representatives from Aetna and the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust will hold informational meetings about the new Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO Plan at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Mr. Anthony’s, Friday, November 4, 2011.  Call 1-800-307-4830 for reservations. A. Bokros, Benefit Plans Rep., updated us on our health insurance and reminded those who have not yet done so, need to complete the PHI (Protected Health Information) forms in order for a Benefit Plans Rep. to assist the member with any insurance issues. B. Bowers and A. UAW LOCAL 1714RETIRED WORKERS’ CHAPTEREXECUTIVE BOARD                                                                                                                                 October 12, 2011 The regular Executive Board meeting of UAW Local 1714 Retired Workers’ Chapter was held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the Local Union Hall, with Chairperson Mike Sullivan presiding.  Roll call of officers showed 5present.              Motion by J. Tucker, second by D. Holestine, to get a contract with Rudy and the Professionals band at $1200, for the 1714 Retired Workers’ Chapter Christmas Dinner Dance, December11, 2011.    CARRIED              Motion by B. Fry, second by R. Willard, to send a flyer to the members for the November membership meeting informing them the meeting date has been moved to the 14, and include the Christmas Dinner Dance on December 11 2011, from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. information.                                                 CARRIED              Motion by J. Tucker, second by B. Fry, to have Bob (Fry) get seventy-five (75) flag pins for the November meeting to honor the Veterans.                                                                                        CARRIED              Motion by B. Fry, second by J. Tucker, to have Mike meet with Antone’s representative to get a catering contract for the Christmas Dinner Dance.                                                                        CARRIED              Motion by D. Holestine, second by B. Fry, to get pies for the November meeting and the December Christmas Dinner Dance.  Doug and Roger to pick them up.                                          CARRIED              Motion by B. Fry, second by R.
