Lordstown Production Update
General Motors has confirmed a production down week for Lordstown Complex the week of November 28, 2011. At this time production is scheduled to resume the week of December 5, 2011.
The down week is necessary to align production with current market demand. The scheduling modification is attributed to traditional seasonal buying behavior coupled with competitors’ recovering inventories previously impacted by the March earthquake in Japan.
Impacted hourly employees will follow status guidelines established by the 2011 UAW-GM National Agreement. Those needed to support operations during the down week will be notified by their leadership. Salaried employees will receive direction from their leadership.
You are encouraged to monitor the Lordstown information hotline for updates (if needed) by calling 1-800-934-9244.
