The duties of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee are:
To work on by-law changes that membership supports. To work with the Executive Board in making sure our laws are consistent with the UAW Constitution.
C.A.P.
The Duties of the CAP Council are:
To report to the membership all national, state and local legislation issues affecting the welfare of the workers. To organize and conduct campaigns of letter writing, send delegates to community meetings and exert other forms of influence on behalf of measures of importance. To cooperate with the UAW CAP Council of the State and Local Industrial Union Councils in Labor ward organizations in registration drives, in endorsing candidates and conducting election campaigns. To see that all literature, pamphlets, placards and other political material issued by the International Union is properly and effectively distributed among the membership and others.
The duties of the Chaplaincy Committee are:Chaplaincy
To promote the religious needs of the membership of all denominations.
Civil | Human Rights
The duties of the Civil and Human Rights Committee are:
They shall promote fair employment practices and endeavor to eliminate discrimination affecting the welfare of the members of the Local Union, the International Union, the Labor Movement and the Nation. In the case of discrimination within the plant, the Chairman of the Civil Rights Committee and the Bargaining Committee shall attempt to jointly meet with Management in an effort to resolve the issues. In the event such discrimination issues are not thereby resolved, the Civil Rights Committee shall report to the proper state agency.
Community Service
The duties if the Community Services Committee are:
To visit all members who are sick or in distress and report to the Executive Board and to the membership their findings and recommendations. To cooperate with the Strike Committee should a strike be in progress.
Consumer Affairs
The Consumer Affairs Committee members believe that the labor movement should monitor the social conscience and performance of companies in order to provide safe and honest products and services. This committee educates members on issues that affect all consumers, such as: child labor, truth in lending, truth in packaging, truth in advertising, utilities, consumer fraud.
Union Label
The duties of the Union Label Committee are:
To promote the purchase of union made goods.

Across the land, UAW members build cars, vans and trucks. But did you know that in a factory in Michigan, UAW members also build houses? Or that in a plant in New York, UAW members prepare and package sugar. Or that in Ontario, UAW members make golf clubs.
